Global Entry Doors – a Case Study
Global Entry Doors owner Mike Jenkins approached us because he was frustrated with trying to build his own website. After spending weeks of his valuable time trying to make a site with a low-cost solution that promised his “dream” website, he realized that his site looked terrible, made his business look unprofessional, and wasn’t helping him sell doors. Being the wise small business owner that he is, Mike quickly realized that his time was better spent selling, and it would be cheaper and yield better results to just hire a professional to make his site.
After meeting with Mike, we defined a few clear goals for his new site:
- Door sales should be the primary focus
- His products needed to look beautiful
- The design should reflect his 30+ years of experience and expertise in his field
We carefully considered Mike’s requirements and chose to use the Squarespace e-commerce platform to keep costs down – this would be the least expensive option even though we would need to add custom code to work around template design limitations. We coordinated with professional photographer Matthew Meier to shoot his product photos, and within two weeks we had the new Global Entry Doors website up and running. Mike’s first sale from his own site came shortly thereafter, and he more than paid for the project with the sales he was able to make while we built the site for him.
Here’s what Mike had to say after we finished the project:Derek & Julie are patient, experienced, and overall a great pleasure to work with. I am now able to focus on my business and I sleep better knowing that my website is in good hands! I highly recommend Derek T Consulting to anyone who needs help with their website.
